Weight Loss Competition - Glen Vs Marc - Week 1
GLEN'S BLOG- I realize that I am starting to look rather sluggish. Letting myself go a little. It's been 15 months of a day job in a shop and I have been putting on a little weight...actually about 40lbs since the start of my job. I never thought it would happen with walking around the shop, lifting heavy objects and sweating my ass off during the summer. My old job was at a pizzeria where I would be running around, constantly on the go. Stuffing my face with greasy food and washing it down with beer after work. 2 years of that and I only gained 8lbs. Back then I was still underweight from a sweatshop job of detailing 6 days a week...but 40 lbs in 15 months....I mean FUCK! Something has to change here.
I have been chatting with my friend, Marc, and he is feeling the same struggles. He, like me, used to work in the fast paced food industry and felt the rewards of being lean...I shit you not, this guy was a beast. He's shorter than me and could at one time throw me around like the Hulk could throw tanks through brick walls...anyway...We both moved on to new jobs and realized we're on our way of becoming what we used to physically be and aren't too thrilled about it. This is where a contest came about. A challenge to see who can lose the most weight in a given amount of time. No tangible rewards have been announced, but it's motivation to get ourselves back into shape.
Here's the lowdown:
- No Anabolic Steroids
-Any dieting method may be used *Starving and/or Vomiting may be used, but not recommended
-Weekly weigh-ins to see where each contestant stands
-Don't Kill Yourself in the Process of Losing Weight
The challenge will begin the monday after christmas (12/29/08) with the first weigh-in and posts. Anyone who wants to join our contest is more than welcome. Good luck and keep an eye out for updates
MARCS BLOG-Glen and I have both been gaining weight for the past year or so. On my end it was because I lost my job at a restaurant, I was a server so that entailed me walking/running the better part of four miles a day. With the loss of the extra income it forced me to eat food that was not well good for me all of the organic fruits, vegetables, meat and milk were also out of my price range so I was on the hormone and pesticide super highway. I also lost my motivation to go workout half had to do with what I listed before, the other half well I would walk to the gym and it was winter so the seasons also had a hand in my weight gain. I dont know what happened to Glen if you would like just send him a message on Myspace. We discussed the fact we were both getting fat and neither one of use liked the fact we need to buy husky pants. I asked Glen if he wanted to do another contest (see Never ever bet me. on my blog) he is up for it. This is a weight loss contest so we will both be winners. We do not have many rules but this is them.
*No anabolic steroids.
*We are aloud to use any diet we see fit.
*We will face the scale one time a week.
That is it. If you want to jump on the band wagon just send me a message. We will also be bloging about the whole thing and I know I will post the weight every week on my blog. The first time we face the scale is going to be the Monday after Christmas.
